You can choose many different vehicles to get you around Woodbridge, Vaughan, Brampton, Kleinburg, Mississauga, and the Greater Toronto Area. But few are as stylish, desirable, and genuinely exciting as the 2024 Cadillac CT5. The CT5 competes against some of the best cars that Germany and Japan have to offer, and it’s a genuine rival to all of them for style, luxury, and much better value than most.
The 2024 Cadillac CT5 is a midsize luxury sedan with a style that fits its soul. There’s no such thing as a slow or mundane CT5, but there are several different performance levels, and the exterior styling gives a good idea of what to expect. The sloping roofline and prominent angles deliver an aggressive look, which gets even more aggressive with the Blackwing and its exclusive wheels and lower rear diffuser that emphasize the muscular stance.
There are five different versions of the 2024 CT5 to choose from. They start with the entry-level CT5 Luxury, and from there, the range goes to the CT5 Premium Luxury, CT5 Sport, CT5 V-Series, and the CT5 V-Series Blackwing. For the new model year, and to mark the 20th anniversary of the V sub-brand, anniversary badging can be found in places such as the grille, rockers, and in the animated gauge cluster of the CT5-V.
There’s impressive performance on offer at every level with the 2024 Cadillac CT5, especially at the top of the range with the CT5 Blackwing, which has the honour of being the most powerful production Cadillac ever to roll off the assembly line. The first three trim levels get a standard 2.0-litre turbo-four engine with 238 horsepower, but the Premium Luxury is also available with an optional 3.0-litre twin-turbo V-6 that puts out 335 horsepower.
The V-Series ups the performance ante with a 360-horsepower version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo, and there’s a massive step up from there when you go to the Blackwing. The V-Series Blackwing has a monstrous 6.2-litre supercharged V-8 under its hood that develops 668 horsepower and 659 lb.-ft. of torque. The Blackwing gets a standard six-speed manual transmission, but it can be upgraded to a 10-speed auto if you prefer.
To harness the power of the V-Series, Cadillac employs lots of clever gadgetry like an electronic limited-slip rear differential and a Magnetic Ride Control Suspension system for athletic handling and a smoother ride experience. And then there’s the V-Mode button, which lets you personalize how the car drives and handles. However, plenty of other high-tech features throughout the range help deliver a sensational experience for the driver and passengers.
Every model features power-adjustable front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless phone charging, a 10.0-inch touchscreen, and a 12.0-inch digital instrument screen. High-tech options include Automatic Parking Assist with Braking, a performance data and video recorder, HD Surround Vision, a head-up display, and even GMs Super Cruise autonomous driving system.
The 2024 Cadillac CT5 can be a sensible and affordable luxury midsize sedan, a track-ready beast, and everything in between.
