If you want to travel in opulent luxury and make a big impression when you arrive at your destination in Woodbridge, Vaughan, Brampton, Kleinburg, Mississauga, or anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area, no vehicle is better for the job than the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade is an automotive legend with its stunningly imposing exterior, outrageously spacious and luxurious interior, and standard features and technology that leave owners wanting for nothing.
It’s easy to get carried away by the brutishly imposing exterior styling of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade, but it’s on the inside where the full-size luxury SUV really comes into its own. Everything about the Escalade is on a different scale to most vehicles, and nowhere is that more evident than inside the cabin. The maximum seating capacity is nine, although most Escalades you’ll come across will be seven-seaters with captain’s chairs in the second row. Those second-row seats offer passengers an extremely generous 1,059 mm (41.70 inches) of legroom, and even those in the third-row seat get 886 mm (34.90 inches) of legroom.
While your passengers will enjoy all that legroom, your luggage won’t suffer either. Even with all the seats in place and occupied, there’s an impressive 722 litres of cargo volume behind the third row. If you don’t need the third-row seats, folding them down opens up a cavernous 2,064 litres of available cargo volume. And if you want the maximum cargo capacity, the space behind the front seats is a massive 3,426 litres.
There’s no hiding the fact that the 2024 Cadillac Escalade is a big, heavy vehicle. And even without a full complement of people and cargo onboard, the Escalade will need a substantial power unit to provide it with appropriate performance. But rather than a single engine for all six trim levels of Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport Platinum, and V-Series, Cadillac has decided to offer a choice of three.
Most shoppers will be more than happy with the standard engine for all models below the range-topping V-Series, a 6.2-litre V-8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. This unit can get the Escalade from a standing start to 100 kph in around six seconds, but the V-Series takes Escalade performance to another level entirely. It still has a 6.2-litre V-8, but the V-Series powerplant develops 682 horsepower and 653 lb.-ft. of torque that can get the Escalade to 100 kph in around four and a half seconds. A third option is available in the shape of a turbodiesel inline-six with 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, and every configuration sends its power to all four wheels through a ten-speed automatic transmission.
You could quite easily and quickly run out of superlatives to describe the standard and available features of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade, especially the technology. One of the standout features of the 2024 Escalade is the 38 total inches of curved OLED diagonal display that serves as the Escalade’s command centre. This is the auto industry’s first curved OLED display boasting twice the pixel density of a 4K TV. This cutting-edge technology delivers bold imagery, perfect blacks, and an expansive colour range.
The massive display shows the driver all the necessary information, but what you see inside the Escalade is only the start. The fabulous infotainment system gets complemented by some of the industry’s finest sound systems. The standard unit is an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system, while the Premium Luxury Platinum and higher get an AKG Studio Reference 36-speaker audio system with three amplifiers and 3D surround sound.
Escalade is a byword for luxury, opulence, and imposing presence. The 2024 Cadillac Escalade more than lives up to that illustrious reputation with some of the finest interiors and cutting-edge technology to be found anywhere in the industry.
